Bridging the digital divide in rural and remote communities.
Access to the Internet should be a right, not a privilege. The Rural Digital Access & Inclusion Project focuses on supporting underconnected communities in New Zealand by improving access to digital tools, connectivity, and skills training. We work with local councils, marae, libraries, and community hubs to deliver Internet basics courses, provide devices where needed, and support long-term digital inclusion strategies.
The programme particularly supports rural youth, older adults, and Māori and Pasifika communities that may face barriers to digital participation. By addressing the digital divide, we help ensure that all New Zealanders — regardless of location — have the opportunity to benefit from the opportunities the Internet provides.
